My 2017 progress toward my goals can be summed up in two words: oh dear! *smirks
While it’s true that January didn’t go to plan, it’s not the end of the world. Writing effectively when it’s hot and I’ve got a houseful of people with little or no routine is always tough. I’ve had what I like to think of as “a swing” at my goals, and now I’m ready to hit that ball right out of the park. 🙂
I think it’s important to acknowledge what is and isn’t possible, and not hold ourselves to standards or expectations that are unrealistic. A friend of a friend took her own life last week, and it drove home the need to be kind above all else. Kind to others, and also kind to ourselves. A big part of moving forward is to decide what matters, and then take positive steps toward it. (Even if they’re baby steps!)
I’m pleased to report that not only have I added to the word count of my current project, I’ve been playing with an idea for another. They’re small advancements, but as the saying goes…even if you fall on your face, you’re still moving forward. I’m not going to address each goal and my oftentimes pitiful progress, because I know I can do better in February than I did in January. This time next month, I’ll have great things to report. Hope you do too!
